General Faculty Council

As the executive committee of the General Faculty, principle responsibility of the General Faculty Council (GFC) is to recommend appointments and changes in rank and salary for members of the teaching faculty to the president, based on the recommendations of the divisional faculty councils. The president then makes appropriate recommendations to the Board of Trustees for senior appointments, tenure, changes in rank and salary for members of the General Faculty. GFC also acts as an advisory board to the president and other matters that the president deems fit, and as the executive committee of the General Faculty, may act on its behalf with its full authority. The committee also forms subcommittees on planning and invites outside membership where appropriate.
