Conservatory Communications

The fundamental purpose of the Office of Conservatory Communications is to promote the Conservatory of Music. The Communications Office publicizes events and announces institutional news, particularly as it relates to academic departments and faculty, students, and staff. The office maintains a robust database of print, broadcast, and web media contacts at all levels—international, national, and regional—and communicates with these contacts strategically to obtain optimum placement of stories. In addition to media relations, the office is responsible for maintaining pages on the Conservatory web site, facilitating production of releases on the Oberlin Music record label, facilitating radio broadcasts, and conceptualizing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives, including print and radio advertising and direct mail.
