Development Operations
Development Operations provides all advancement services functions for the Development and Alumni Affairs division, with supporting functions for the President’s Office. Comprised of the five offices listed below, Development Operations provides the human, data, and written resources necessary for development officers to solicit ongoing financial support and senior administrators to conduct the business of the College.

Office of Development Information Technology
The Office of Development Information Technology maintains and manages the College’s alumni/development database and software; it provides training, supplies oversight and vision; and serves as the division’s technical authority.

Office of Public Programs
The Office of Public Programs manages and produces presidential and development events for on-campus and off-campus venues, and provides guidance to non-events departments within division and beyond concerning event protocol.

Office of Development Records
The Office of Development Records facilitates the input of all gift and pledge information for the division, maintains all biographical information about constituents, and ensures that gifts are properly entered and credited in a timely manner in accordance with the donor’s intentions.

Office of Development Research
The Office of Development Research conducts research on prospective donors and coordinates prospect management for the division. The staff seeks out new prospects and provides in-depth financial and biographic information about current and prospective donors, which allows the College’s senior level officials to focus their fundraising and friendraising efforts on prospects with the most potential to support Oberlin fiscally or in service. The Development Research staff uses tools within the computer program Raiser’s Edge to manage the prospect pool to assist development officers in effectively concentrating their fundraising efforts.

Office of Stewardship
The Office of Stewardship oversees the division’s donor reporting, presidential correspondence, fund management, and memorial/honorary gift process. Its programs focus on raising giving levels, influencing donor retention, increasing the pace at which donors maximize their giving, cultivating and nurturing interactive relationships between the College and the giving community, and honoring those who invest in Oberlin College.
