Library System

There are four libraries on campus: the Main Library (Mudd), the Science Library, the Art Library, and the Conservatory Library. In total, the libraries hold well over 2 million items. Oberlin also offers access to nearly 50 million items through the Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK). OBIS, Oberlin’s online catalog, allows users easy access to the large campus collection and OhioLINK items, and also tracks checked out materials. The libraries’ reference staff are an invaluable resource for students working on research papers. Other offices within the library system include special collections and preservation, serials and government documents, and the College archives. The library system is co-administered by the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the dean of the Conservatory, and is managed by the director of libraries.
