Instrument Maintenance

One function of the Conservatory dean’s office is to oversee the maintenance of the many instruments owned by the Conservatory. This is managed primarily by the assistant dean for facilities and technology. The Piano Tech shop, located in the basement of Bibbins, maintains and tunes Oberlin’s 200+ pianos; the Conservatory owns an additional wide array of instruments for student and faculty use including organs, string instruments, percussion equipment, and harpsichords.
