Conservatory Committee (Alumni)

The Conservatory Committee supports the educational mission of the Conservatory of Music and enhances the relationship of the Conservatory with its alumni. Members of the Conservatory Committee are generally chosen for their music expertise. The committee usually meets during Alumni Council weekend and one other weekend in the spring. Its goals are to work with the administration to initiate, develop, and in some cases participate in the execution of projects in the following areas:

  • Ongoing contact with alumni: programs that communicate with Conservatory alumni and keep them in touch with the school and with each other.
  • New student recruitment: projects that utilize the resources of Conservatory alumni in recruiting students for Oberlin.
  • Conservatory development: projects that identify and support needs of the Conservatory.
  • Career assistance: projects that support Oberlin students and graduates in career development (e.g., internships, mock interviews and auditions, and identification of employment and performance opportunities).
  • Communication: activities that foster and enhance communication between the Conservatory and the world-wide Oberlin community.
